September 1982. It was a crisp morning at West Broad Street Elementary in Mrs. Wasser’s AM kindergarten class where our story first began. Kevin wasn’t in that morning session for long, but those early schoolyard days set a stage that neither of us could have imagined.
Little did Debbie know that the husky boy who moved from AM to PM kindergarten—the very same one who famously survived a "sneeze-with-no-tissues" crisis in Mrs. Monroe’s second-grade class—would one day become her husband.
We spent the next 12 years navigating the Souderton Area School District together, from those first kindergarten cubbies all the way to high school graduation. Though life eventually took us in different directions, our story wasn't over. Years later, thanks to a chance Facebook group chat for our old elementary school class, we reconnected. What started at West Broad Street finally came home, proving that some of the best things in life are worth the decades-long wait.
